3728529 - Subcontracting with Special Stock

Organizations subcontracting materials tied to Project (Q) and Sales Order (E) stocks face limited visibility and control once components move to the vendor as special stock. Maintaining the original WBS or sales-order reference becomes difficult, causing planning gaps, incorrect consumption, and cost-posting inconsistencies. Backflush processes often break account assignment, leading to reconciliation issues and compliance risks.

These challenges are even more critical in Engineer-to-Order (ETO) and Make-to-Order (MTO) environments, where every component is uniquely pegged to a project or customer order.

Setup of Solution
Follow the steps below:

1. Onboarding of current capabilities and restrictions (ensure restrictions will not affect business operations and/or create inconsistent data)

2. Apply for activation of features

• • Activation and testing of feature in test system.
  • Verification of successful testing in test system.
  • Activation of feature in productive tenant.
    
    

Procedure to get the feature activated in a customer system/tenant:

1.      In case you plan to use this feature productively, you should open your case under the production system on component  MM-PUR-GF-SC-2CL and provide the necessary details for each system involved, this will avoid creating multiple cases. Activation can also be requested via individual tickets per system/tenant if preferred.

2.      The title of the incident should be "Activation of Feature Toggle for Special Stock Subcon". In the incident itself refer to this note (3728529) and ask for activation of the feature. Priority medium is sufficient

3. Master Data Change:

In the Material Master for components ,  tab, MRP4 set it to 1 = Individual in the field: “Individual/Collective Requirement indicator"
