Symptom
Weekly days off configured as Saturday and Sunday in the schedule model are incorrectly applied as other days (e.g., Friday and Saturday) when assigned to employees.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Time Administration work center.
- Select the Employees view.
- Search and select the relevant employee.
- Choose Edit.
- Go to the Time Profile tab.
- Go to the Work Schedule sub-tab.
Observe that Friday and Saturday are marked as holidays instead of Saturday and Sunday.
Cause
The validity of the schedule model is set to start on a date that causes misalignment in the calculation of weekly days off.
For example, setting the "Valid From" date to a Tuesday (e.g., 10.01.1967) results in the system calculating the schedule starting from Sunday, causing Friday and Saturday to be displayed as holidays instead of Saturday and Sunday.
Resolution
Possible resolutions:
Option 1: Change the Valid from Date.
Update the "Valid From" date of the schedule model to a Monday. This ensures the system calculates the schedule correctly, with Saturday and Sunday as holidays.
Option 2: Adjust the Order in the Schedule Model.
- Go to the Business Configuration work center.
- Select the Overview view.
- Search and open the activity “Reusable Work Schedules.”
- Choose "Maintain Reusable Work Schedules."
- Search and open the relevant schedule model.
- Use "Move Up One Row" to adjust the sequence and set Saturday and Sunday as holidays.
- Save the changes.
After applying either of the above options, verify that the correct holidays (Saturday and Sunday) are displayed for the employee's work schedule.
