Symptom
An employee has received paid maternity leave from the employer. Subsequently, the employee receives maternity compensation from the social insurance authority. The employer needs to recover the salary amount that was already paid.
In such scenarios, customers often consider reversing the original payment by replacing the paid leave with unpaid leave retroactively, or by introducing adjustments in future payroll periods.
The following challenges may occur:
- Retroactive changes to absence or payroll data trigger recalculation of closed and posted payroll periods
- Recovery needs to be aligned with specific wage components (such as Basic Salary and Housing Allowance) in a controlled manner
- Historical payroll results should remain unchanged while recovery is processed in future periods
