3730049 - Outbound Delivery Quantity Differs from Forecast Delivery Schedule in Sales Scheduling Agreement in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

When creating an outbound delivery from a sales scheduling agreement, the system proposes a delivery quantity that differs from the quantity maintained in the forecast delivery schedule.

For example:

  • Forecast Delivery Schedule quantity = 20

  • Outbound Delivery proposal = 100

The user may need to manually adjust the delivery quantity during delivery creation.

Environment

 SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a Sales Scheduling Agreement with a material and customer.

  2. Maintain Forecast Delivery Schedule lines with specific quantities (e.g., 20 units).

  3. Ensure multiple schedule lines or open quantities exist.

  4. Create an Outbound Delivery for the scheduling agreement.

  5. Observe the proposed delivery quantity in the outbound delivery.

Cause

The outbound delivery quantity is determined based on open, delivery-relevant forecast delivery schedule lines.

During delivery creation, the system may:

  • Consider multiple open schedule lines

  • Aggregate quantities within the selected delivery horizon or date range

As a result, the proposed delivery quantity may not correspond to a single forecast schedule line, but instead reflects the total open requirement.

Resolution

This is standard system behavior.

To manage or adjust the delivery quantity:

  • Review the open forecast delivery schedule lines and their quantities

  • Verify the delivery creation date or selection criteria

  • Manually adjust the delivery quantity in the outbound delivery if required

If a specific quantity is required per delivery:

  • Ensure schedule lines are structured accordingly

  • Control delivery creation timing and selection parameters

Additional Information

  • Forecast Delivery Schedule lines represent delivery requirements over time, not necessarily a 1:1 mapping to outbound deliveries.

  • The system is designed to optimize delivery creation by considering open requirements rather than enforcing strict one-to-one correspondence.

  • Manual adjustment during delivery creation is supported and expected where needed.
