3730238 - Different/Inconsistent filter behavior between app Trial Balance and app Manage G/L Account Master Data in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

In SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, filter behaviors are different in app Trial Balance and app Manage G/L Account Master Data.

In app Trial Balance, entering wildcard (such as 1*, 2*) in filter field will become "equal to" operator in filter condition.

In app Manage G/L Account Master Data, entering wildcard (such as 1*, 2*) in filter field will become "starts with" operator in filter condition.

Therefore, if in filter field input more than one wildcard such as 1* plus 2*, in app Trial Balance the logic will be "equal to 1* and equal to 2*" and returns no result, while in app Manage G/L Account Master Data it will show all results including 1* or 2*, thus causing inconsistent filter behavior.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

These two apps are using different underlying technology.

Trial Balance is a WebDynpro Grid app. Manage G/L account master data is a Fiori UI app.

They have different logic on UI and backend action. Therefore this situation appears.

The apps are working as designed.
