3730533 - System Performance Issues and Deadlocks During Business Partner (BP) Replications

Symptom

  • Update work processes were occupied, with ABAP wait/onhold. Transactions were blocked with RECORD_LOCK. This occurred when Business Partner (BP) web service replication was used and a new relationship was created after BP creation.
    • Program: SAPLBS_SOA_INAPPSEQ_UPD 
      Current action: Database Update
      Action: BSSOA_IAS_SEQ
  • Critical issues occurred in web service messages for both inbound and outbound communication.
  • Significant mass changes were made to Business Partner master data earlier in the day, leading to issues in message replication to systems such as Ariba, C4C, CPQ, and FSM.
  • The systems are integrated via Data Replication Framework (DRF) and web services.
  • SM50 displayed multiple entries with ABAP_HOLD due to SM12 lock on UKMDB_V78BNSS
  • Lock contention occurred in the productive system due to users running the transaction code MDS_LOAD_COCKPIT to synchronize data.
  • This resulted in locks against the table BSSOA_IAS_SEQ, causing updates to be stuck and leading to performance issues across the system.
  • Many entries were observed in the tRFC queues (SM58) with "Function Module = MDG_BS_BP_OUTBOUND_DRF_CALL, Destination = NONE."
