3730959 - Cross-Client Validation (CCV) and Semantic Business Configuration Locks (SBCL) for Critical Business Configuration Changes in Parallel Line and Main Line

Symptom

When critical business configuration changes are made in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, Cross-Client Validation (CCV) checks are triggered to ensure consistency across test and production systems. However, when a parallel line is configured, the behavior of these validation checks differs based on where the changes originate:

  • Changes made in the customizing tenant (D.100) of the main line don't trigger CCV checks in the parallel test tenant (T.120).
  • Semantic Business Configuration Locks (SBCLs) aren't applied in the parallel line for critical business configuration changes made in the main line. Because CCV checks aren’t triggered, SBCLs can't be applied as a consequence.
  • As a result, rebasing may introduce inconsistencies in the parallel line, while the main line remains unaffected.
  • After rebasing, business processes in the parallel line may fail due to these configuration inconsistencies.

This behavior can lead to unexpected validation failures.
