3731292 - Error When Opening Purchase Contract

When opening a Purchase Contract in Manage Purchase Contracts app or transaction Display Purchase Contract (ME33K), the system shows error message: Field selection PT K not defined (ME028).

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the Manage Purchase Contracts app.
2. Search for a purchase contract and open it.
3. Observe the error message: "Field selection PT K not defined" (ME028).
4. Optionally, open the same contract in transaction ME33K and observe the same error.

Some purchase contract items have an empty Item Category, causing the system to determine an undefined field selection and raise the error message.

1. Open the Mass Changes to Purchase Contract app.
2. Find the contract ID in the list.
3. Click on the ID and choose Manage Purchase Contract.
4. Navigate to the Items tab.
5. Identify items where the Item Category field is empty.
6. Assign a valid Item Category to the affected items.
7. Save the changes.
8. Reopen the contract in the Manage Purchase Contracts app (or ME33K) to confirm that the error no longer appears.
