3731322 - Line missing on a chart in view mode when connecting to an SAP BW Query that have dynamic default variables in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

• When viewing a story with optimized design experience (ODE) based on an SAP BW Query with variable prompts that have dynamic default values, the Combination Column & Line chart does not display the line.
• The same chart displays the line in edit mode and in an application.
• The issue occurs only in story view mode.

SAP Analytics Cloud

1. Create or open a story based on an SAP BW Live connection to an SAP BW Query that uses variables with dynamic default values.
2. Add a Combination Column & Line chart where the line series depends on data affected by those variables.
3. Open the story in edit mode and confirm that both bars and line display.
4. Switch to view mode and observe that the line does not display.
5. Re-run prompts or execute the query again; observe that the line then appears in view mode.

The SAP BW Query exit variable exit logic was only populating the LOW value, causing the line not to appear.

To resolve the issue, contacting your SAP BASIS Administrator to update the exit code of the SAP BW Query variable, so that both the LOW and HIGH values are populated for the variable.
