Symptom
- The "Date Signed" field in DocuSign does not respect the time zone of the signer during the onboarding process.
- The signed date in the document does not consider the location of the employee signing the document.
- The date shown in the PDF/Date Signed field is rendered according to DocuSign account/recipient time‑zone rules, not the SuccessFactors user’s time zone.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding
Reproducing the Issue
- An employee signs a document during the onboarding process using DocuSign.
- The signed date in the generated document shows a date based on DocuSign account/recipient time‑zone rules rather than the signer’s local time zone.
Cause
DocuSign renders the PDF “Date Signed” field based on DocuSign account/recipient time‑zone settings; SuccessFactors Onboarding does not control or override this stamp.
Resolution
- Confirm that the behavior is expected: the “Date Signed” stamp in the PDF is produced by DocuSign according to its account/recipient time‑zone rules, not the SuccessFactors user’s time zone.
- Review the DocuSign account’s time and date settings, including default account time zone and any recipient-level or template-level time‑zone rules.
- Adjust DocuSign settings to align with your regional policy (for example, set desired account default time zone or configure recipient-specific time‑zone behavior in DocuSign).
- Test with a sample envelope to verify that the displayed “Date Signed” stamp reflects the intended time‑zone configuration.
- Note: The actual signature timestamp is preserved in the DocuSign envelope/audit trail; SuccessFactors Onboarding only displays the PDF stamped by DocuSign.
