3733473 - VAT registration number is incorrectly copied from reference billing documents in correction invoices and cannot be edited -SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Correction billing documents created with reference show incorrect, non-editable VAT registration numbers (ignoring time-dependent BP data), causing mismatches between VAT reports and printed output in app 'Change Billing Documents' (VF02).

By standard behavior, VAT registration number is copied from the reference billing document and not re-determined from time-dependent Business Partner data.

Data is copied from the reference document and not re-determined by design, as a workaround can use BAdI SD_BIL_DATA_TRANSFER (Custom Data Transfer for Billing Process Documents) to overwrite the VAT registration number (field BILLING_DOC_RES-VATRegistration) via 'Custom logic' (F6957)app.
