Symptom
- After creating a business role from a standard business role template, the number of 'IAM Apps' shown in the created role is lower than the number shown in the business role template.
- All business catalogs are copied to the created role, but the 'IAM Apps' tab shows fewer apps than listed in the template.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the 'Business Role Template' app.
- Search for any standard template (e.g., SAP_BR_BILLING_CLERK).
- Observe that the template contains '60 Business Catalogs and 159 IAM Apps'.
- Click on 'Create Business Role' from template.
- In the newly created Business Role, observe that while all '60 Business Catalogs' are copied, only '129 IAM Apps' are available.
Resolution
All assigned IAM Apps are correctly included in the Business Role.
The difference occurs because, in the 'Business Role Template', all business catalogs and their apps are displayed, and some apps with the same ID are assigned to multiple catalogs. When a Business Role is created, each app is displayed only once, even if it was assigned to multiple catalogs in the template.
