3735547 - Excel export of report shows blank values for a field while data exists in reports

Symptom

When exporting a report to Excel, some fields appear blank for certain records, even though the values are visible in the report view.

Environment

  • Product: SAP Cloud for Customer core applications
  • C4C, ByD, Travel: Analytics Tools & Frameworks

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Business analytics work center.
  2. Navigate to Design Reports and open the relevant report.
  3. Run the report.
  4. Export the report to Excel.
  5. In the exported file, observe that for the id, the target field shows blank values even though the record contains a value in the system.

Cause

This issue occurs due to standard system behavior during Excel export, where repeated values in report columns are suppressed. When multiple rows contain the same value (e.g., Contract ID), the value may appear in the report view but is not repeated in each row in the Excel export, resulting in blank cells for subsequent occurrences.

Resolution

To display all values in the Excel export, enable the “Display Repeated Text” option in the report settings before exporting.

  1. Open the report.
  2. Select the three‑dot menu at the top.
  3. Choose Show Table Settings.
  4. Enable the “Display Repeated Text” option.
  5. Re‑run the report and export to Excel.

After enabling this option, all repeated values will be displayed correctly in the exported file.
