Symptom
- When a Sales Order is created with reference to a Quantity Contract, the Requested Delivery Date from the Quotation is automatically copied to the Contract and then to Sales Order header.
- Requirement that the Requested Delivery Date on Sales Order header should be blank by default, so that users can manually select the appropriate date in the Sales Order.
-
Is there any standard BAdI, enhancement spot, or configuration available in SAP Public Cloud that allows:
- Suppression or clearing of the Requested Delivery Date on Sales Order header when created with reference?
- If not, is there any recommended workaround or best practice to achieve this behavior?
- Alternatively, is it possible to:
- Make the Requested Delivery Date non-mandatory in the Quotation, or
- Prevent the field from being copied to the Sales Order header?
Environment
- Product: SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
- Extensibility (Public Cloud)
Reproducing the Issue
- Create a sales quotation.
- Create a quantity contract with reference to the quotation.
- Create a sales order with reference to the quotation or the quantity contract.
- Observe that the Requested Delivery Date is copied to the sales order header and cannot be left blank or suppressed during creation.
Cause
- Standard system behavior: the Requested Delivery Date is inherited from the reference document to the sales order header, with no option to suppress it at header level.
- No standard BAdI or configuration exists to modify or clear the Requested Delivery Date at sales order header level in Public Cloud.
Resolution
- There is no such BADI to modify header - request delivery date.
- Additionally, it is not possible to leave this field on Sales Order header as blank.
