- Select "Create and edit rules for analyzing memo lines" notice that the are multiple rules already defined.
- Click "Assign Account to Rule", the "Assign Account to Rule for Analyzing Memo Lines" screen is loaded.
- Click Add Row.
- Notice it takes a lot of time for the system to "load" and display the new row. And sometimes the system may show a timeout error.
Cause
Sizing-Limitation.
Resolution
SAP Product Management have evaluated this and confirmed that there is a sizing limitation when the number of maintained rules exceeds 500 rules, from which onwards this is not within support - and product maintenance scope.
For a typical company belonging to the SME (Small and Medium Sized Companies) -sector a number in excess of this threshold is not regarded as reasonable.
SAP Recommended Best Practices:
- Smaller number of highly specific and relevant rules.
- Effective use of patterns and placeholders.
- Minimal overlap between rules.
- Regular maintenance and deletion of rules no longer in use.
