3736435 - Inbound qRFC queue blocked due to "Overflow when converting *e+09" error in /SAPAPO/CIF_ORDER_INBOUND during production order quantity change

Symptom

  • When changing the total quantity of a production order, the inbound qRFC queue (SMQ2) is blocked by FM /SAPAPO/CIF_ORDER_INBOUND with error: "Overflow when converting *e+09".  
  • Double-clicking the error displays a pop-up: "Inspection Document with number * does not exist".  
  • An ABAP dump shows exception CX_SY_CONVERSION_OVERFLOW not caught in method
  • EXPLODE_MODES_AND_ACTIVITIES, with analysis text: "An overflow occurred while attempting to convert value "*e+09".  "
  • The queue block can lead to repetitive ABAP dumps.
