3736437 - Rehire with old Employment option not shown when termination is future dated - Onboarding

• The employee has a future-dated termination, and the intention is to rehire shortly after the termination date. But the option to rehire with old employment is not showing in the Rehire Verification task, only “Rehire with New Employment” is shown.
• The Rehire with Old Employment feature is enabled, but the option is still not available in the Rehire Verification task.
• No error message is displayed.

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

1. Set an employee’s termination with a future effective date.
2. Initiate Onboarding for the candidate.
3. Open the Employee Profile Selection (Pre-Onboarding Rehire Verification) task.
4. Review the rehire options.
5. Observe that “Rehire with Old Employment” is not shown.

This is system design. Future-dated terminations aren’t supported for “Rehire with Old Employment”; the previous employment remains active until the termination effective date, so the option is not presented.

Future dated terminations aren’t currently supported when rehiring with old employment. Future dated terminations refer to situations where the last working day is planned for a future date.

Ensure the termination effective date is in the past so that the previous employment is inactive; if the termination is future dated, wait until the effective date has passed.

If the termination date is in the past, confirm configuration & permissions: 

• Admin Center > Onboarding General Settings, enable “Rehire on Old Employment”.
• Permission Roles > Manage Hire > Rehire Inactive Employee (by ‘match’ in New Hire)
