3736515 - Category 41 to-do tasks cannot be completed from the to-do panel

Users are unable to mark Category 41 (Complete Task for External Integration) To-Do tasks as completed from the UI to-do panel.

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

1. Assign a To-Do task to a user via OData API using Category 41 (Complete Task for External Integration).
2. Verify the task appears in the to-do panel under the “Intelligent Services” category.
3. Attempt to complete the task from the UI to-do panel; no option to mark as completed is available.

Third-party-created to-dos (e.g., created via API for Category 41) cannot be marked as completed directly from the to-do panel or its popup; this is expected product behavior.

1. Mark Category 41 to-do items as completed via OData API upsert on TodoEntryV2, following the steps documented in the official guide. Refer to: TodoEntryV2 | API Reference.
2. If completion from the UI is a business requirement, you can submit an enhancement request to product management to have this functionality considered in future releases. Please refer to: 2090228 - How to submit enhancement requests for products for further details.

To‑Do Panel Hidden When Latest Shell Bar Experience Is Enabled

If the latest experience for the SAP shell bar is enabled, the To‑Do panel/icon will not appear in the header as documented in Changes Included in the SAP User Experience Updates | SAP Help Portal

This is because the To‑Do panel is being deprecated as it no longer aligns with SAP’s latest user experience standards.

How to Check Whether the Latest Shell Bar Experience Is Enabled

1. Go to Company System and Logo Settings.
2. Search for Enable the latest SAP shell bar. 
   • If this is checked, the To-Do Panel will NOT be displayed on the header / shell bar. 
   • If this is unchecked, the To-Do Panel will be displayed.
