3736765 - Customizing Joule Branding and Color Schemes in SAP SuccessFactors

Customer, administrators or branding leads want to modify the visual appearance of the Joule side panel in SAP SuccessFactors. Specifically, there is a requirement to change the default blue and purple gradients to align with the organization’s corporate brand colors.

• Joule

1. Log in to SAP SuccessFactors.
2. Open the Theme Manager via the Admin Center.
3. Apply a custom corporate theme (e.g., changing accent colors to Green or Red).
4. Launch Joule by clicking the diamond icon in the shell bar.
5. Observe that while the main SuccessFactors UI reflects the corporate theme, the Joule panel remains in the standard SAP purple and violet palette.

NOTE: There were no settings or configurations that can change the color schemes of Joule even if we click on the Settings Menu

Select Personalization it has only two options, mainly Disable Streaming and Turn off animations.

• Disable Streaming: This setting stops Joule from generating responses in real-time (streaming word-by-word) and instead displays the full answer at once.
• Turn off Animations/Notifications: This allows users to remove visual effects, such as animations that occur during interactions, to create a more static, accessible interface.

Joule is designed as a cross-platform "Digital Assistant" with a consistent brand identity across the entire SAP ecosystem (including S/4HANA, SAP BTP, and SuccessFactors).

Currently, the SAP Fiori Horizon theme logic and the SuccessFactors Theme Manager do not extend to the Joule interface. The CSS and assets for Joule are hosted centrally by the SAP BTP service and are fixed to ensure the AI assistant is instantly recognizable to users regardless of the specific SAP module they are accessing.

1. Note that Joule’s UI color scheme is currently fixed and cannot be customized via Theme Manager or other configuration.
