3736848 - Tricentis Automation Extension error "Couldn't find the required registry"

Symptom

  • This article explains how to set up the required registry entries to use our browser extension with Tosca 15.2 and newer. 
    Please keep these things in mind: 
    This article applies to Tricentis Tosca on-premises. If you work with Tosca Cloud and you encounter this error, please get in touch with Support.  
    This solution works for Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Island browsers.
  • You’ve installed: 
    Tosca 15.2 or newer
    The Tricentis Automation Extension for your browser

    When clicking on the browser extension, you get this error message: 

     

    "Couldn't find the required registry entry or TricentisHtmlEngineExtensionHelper.exe. To set the registry entry, open a workspace in Tosca Commander or start the DEX agent. For more help, take a look at this Tricentis Knowledge Base article. If this doesn't work, your Tosca installation might be corrupted. To fix it, you can either repair or reinstall Tosca."
