3737036 - How to delete or archive the product master data - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Guidance on deleting or archiving product master data created incorrectly in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition system.

Material Master/Product Master data can be deleted in the SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud System using the archiving object MM_MATNR. 

1. The following prerequisites must be fulfilled before a product can be archived (This action deletes the product logically, but it remains in the database level).
   1. In the Manage Product Master Data app, the Mark for Deletion flag must be set in the master data record. This flag can be set either for the whole record or for individual organizational unit(s) of the record such as Sales, Plant, Storage Location, and so on.
   2. For the deletion of individual organizational units, a retention rule that uses the Last Changed On date as the time reference must be maintained for the ILM object MM_MATNR, with the Minimum Retention Period and Maximum Retention Period both set to 0 (zero) day.
   3. The record or the individual organizational units must pass all the relevant checks successfully. For instance, all dependent data such as purchasing documents must be archived and deleted from the database.
