3737232 - Posting Simulation Step Fails with Status “Canceled” – RPCIPE00 Program

Symptom

The payroll posting simulation job was found to be canceled in SM37.

Environment

  • Human Capital Management (HCM)
  • SAP enhancement package for SAP ERP
  • SAP enhancement package for SAP ERP, version for SAP HANA
  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll
  • SAP S/4HANA

Reproducing the Issue

  • Run the test payroll in Payroll Control Center (PCC).
  • Start the payroll posting simulation.
  • Check the job status in SM37, which shows as canceled.

Cause

 The issue occurs when the payroll posting simulation is run based on test payroll results in PCC using RPCEPE00. PCC doesn't support RPCEPE00 to simulate test payroll results. whereas RPCEPE00 can be used to simulate productive payroll results in PCC.

Resolution

  • Change the posting program to RPCEPE01.
  • Save the process in 'Manage Process.'
  • This change will take effect from the upcoming payroll process.
