Symptom
Created Custom Price Lists but the List Price determined for the Items in a Sales Order are not as expected.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign 2602
Reproducing the Issue
In this example 2 custom Price Lists were created but the same logic applies if more custom Price Lists were created.
Custom Price List AAA with the custom Header Pricing Table CUSA and the standard Item Pricing Table Product- / Service Prices. (AAA represents the name of the custom Price List and CUSA represents the custom Pricing Table)
Custom Price List BBB with the custom Header Pricing Table CUSB and the custom Item Pricing Table CUSC. (BBB represents the name of the custom Price List and CUSB and CUSC represent the custom Pricing Tables)
In the Access Sequence of the fine tuning activity Configure Price Strategy, the Header Pricing Table CUSA has higher priority as the Header Pricing Table CUSB.
- Go to the Business Configuration work center.
- Select the Overview view.
- Open the fine tuning activity Configure Price Strategy.
- Click on the Access Sequence hyperlink.
- Select the Price List with Relevance Header Level
- Can see that the Pricing Table CUSA has higher priority as the Pricing Table CUSB.
PRODUCT_A is maintained in custom Price List AAA and PRODUCT_B is maintained in custom Price List AAA and BBB (PRODUCT_A and PRODUCT_B represent the Product ID’s).
- Go to the Sales Orders work center.
- Select the Sales Orders view.
- Open Sales Order XYZ (XYZ represents the Sales Order ID).
- Navigate to the Items tab
- Select Line Item XX for PRODUCT_A (XX represents the line item number).
- The List Price is determined from Price List AAA as expected.
- Select Line Item YY for PRODUCT_B (YY represents the line item number).
- The List Price is determined from Price List BBB but expected that the List Price to be determined from Price List AAA since the Header Pricing Table CUSA of Price List AAA has a higher priority than the Header Pricing Table CUSB of Price List BBB.
Cause
The system does not only take the Access Sequence of the Pricing Table for the Header Level into consideration but also the Access Sequence of the Pricing Table for the Item Level.
If the custom Price List uses custom Pricing Tables on Item Level, the Access Sequence for the Pricing Tables on Item level has priority.
In the Access Sequence of the fine tuning activity Configure Price Strategy, the Pricing Table CUSC has higher priority as the standard Pricing Table Product- / Service Prices.
- Go to the Business Configuration work center.
- Select the Overview view.
- Open the fine tuning activity Configure Price Strategy.
- Click on the Access Sequence hyperlink.
- Select the Product List Price with Relevance Item Level
- Can see that the custom Pricing Table CUSC has higher priority as the standard Pricing Table Product- / Service Prices.
Since PRODUCT_B is maintained in custom Price List AAA and BBB and the Item Pricing Table of Price List BBB has a higher priority in the access sequence, the List Price for the Item is determined from Price List BBB.
Resolution
This is expected system behavior.
