3738035 - How to assign external number range to Employee and Employment Business Partner in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition?

Symptom

  • External number range needs to be assigned to Employee and Employment Business Partner during integration of the worker from External HR system via SOAP API or JB1 or MDI.
  • External number range needs to be assigned to Employee and Employment Business Partner when the worker is created manually in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open "Manage Workforce" app.
  2. Click on Create button.
  3. Fill the worker details and Save.
  4. System generates Employee and Employment Business Partner numbers.

Cause

This is a standard system behavior.

Resolution

Employee and Employment Business Partner is assigned internal number range and end business users have no control over it.
