3738068 - Incorrect Join Between Job Information and Employee Payroll Run Results in Story Reports

Symptom

When creating a Story Report that joins Job Information with Employee Payroll Run Results, the report returns no payroll data or produces incomplete results when Job Information is used as the anchor object.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a new Story Report.
  2. Select Job Information as the anchor object.
  3. Join Employee Payroll Run Results.
  4. Add fields from both Job Information and Employee Payroll Run Results.
  5. Preview or run the report.
  6. Observe that no payroll data is returned.

Cause

In releases prior to 2605, the join between Job Information and Employee Payroll Run Results was incorrectly defined. The join logic connected:

  • Job Information – User ID to Employee Payroll Run Results – Employment ID

This join condition did not logically relate the data. As a result, the join effectively pointed to no matching records, and Story Reports were unable to return payroll results when Job Information was used as the anchor object.

Resolution

As of the 2605 release, this issue is resolved. The join between Job Information and Employee Payroll Run Results has been corrected to ensure proper user‑ID mapping between the two objects.

Impact on Existing Reports

Please be aware that starting with the 1H 2026 release, Story Reports created using the previous join configuration between Job Information and Employee Payroll Run Results may no longer behave as expected and should be reviewed. To correct the report:

  1. Remove the existing Employee Payroll Run Results table.
  2. Re‑add the Employee Payroll Run Results table so that it uses the updated join configuration.

This ensures the report applies the corrected join logic and returns accurate payroll data.
