3738561 - Catalog validation error: "Items that failed rule execution on account of an internal error"

Symptom

During catalog validation in Catalog Content Manager > Content Document, one or more items fail with a validation error triggered by a Content Rule of type Error. The affected items appear in the validation error: "Items that failed rule execution on account of an internal error".
