Symptom

During an upgrade using Software Update Manager (SUM), the process stops in the phase MAIN_INIT/RUN_RSUPG_TADIR_COMPONENT_CHECK.

UPGCOMPONENTCHECK.<sid> contains the following logs:

4 ETG012 Software component without component registration: SAP_APPL
4 ETG011 xx packages found for component SAP_APPL
4 ETG012 xx objects with srcsystem <> 'SAP' found for component SAP_APPL
4 ETG012 xx objects with srcsystem = 'SAP' found for component SAP_APPL (including generated objects)
4 ETG012 xx generated objects with srcsystem = 'SAP' found for component SAP_APPL
2EETG013 xx objects with srcsystem = 'SAP' found for component SAP_APPL that will not be rescued by SUM upgrade!

Inside UNKNOWN_COMPONENT_OBJECT log, the affected objects begin with the namespace /ARBA/ (e.g., /ARBA/PIR, /ARBA/CL_PURREQ_P2P). Similar to below:

The following xx objects with srcsystem = 'SAP' from software components without software component registration will not be rescued by 
SUM upgrade!
