3738738 - Users Able to Move Candidates Despite “Selectable by” Permission Disabled in Applicant Status Configuration - Recruiting

Users (Operators) are able to move candidates across applicant statuses even though the “Selectable by” permission is disabled in Edit Applicant Status Configuration.

Despite the restriction being configured, the system still allows status changes for candidates, resulting in unexpected behavior.

1. In Edit Applicant Status Configuration, disable "Selectable by" for the relevant statuses for the user's role while keeping those statuses visible.
2. Access Applicant Workbench as a user with that role.
3. Attempt to select a candidate from the status and move the candidate to other status, the system still allows the move despite "Selectable by" being disabled.

This is an expected behavior of the system.

The “Selectable by” permission controls the ability to move a candidate into a specific status, but it does not restrict moving a candidate out of that status.

Behavior Explanation:

• If “Selectable by” is disabled for a status (e.g., Status B), users cannot move candidates into that status.
• However, if a candidate is already in that status, users are still allowed to move the candidate out to another status.

Example:

• Candidate is in Status A.
• Status B has “Selectable by” disabled.
  • ❌ User cannot move candidate from Status A → Status B.
• Candidate is already in Status B.
  • ✅ User can move candidate from Status B → another status.

No system configuration is currently available to restrict moving candidates out of a status when “Selectable by” is disabled.
