3738766 - Include candidates with in-progress applications from deleted requisitions in the purge - Recruiting Management

Symptom

This KBA explains the meaning of the Candidate Profile purge option "Include candidates with in-progress applications from deleted requisitions in the purge" in SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management.

It also explains how this option differs from "Do not purge Candidate Profiles that have in-progress applications", since the wording of these two options may appear confusing when viewed together.

This is to understand:

  • what "Include candidates with in-progress applications from deleted requisitions in the purge" means
  • why candidate profiles with in-progress applications from deleted requisitions can still be purged
  • how this differs from "Do not purge Candidate Profiles that have in-progress applications"
  • why the options do not have the same effect

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Resolution

The two options apply to different scenarios.

  • "Include candidates with in-progress applications from deleted requisitions in the purge" is for candidate profiles with in-progress applications under deleted requisitions.
  • "Do not purge Candidate Profiles that have in-progress applications" is for candidate profiles with in-progress applications under active requisitions.
  • If "Do not purge Candidate Profiles that have in-progress applications" is enabled, candidate profiles with in-progress applications under active requisitions are excluded from purge.
  • If "Include candidates with in-progress applications from deleted requisitions in the purge" is enabled, candidate profiles with in-progress applications under deleted requisitions are not disqualified from purge only because those in-progress applications still exist. These candidate profiles can still be purged.

This distinction is important because there can be cases where Candidate Profile purge does not proceed due to the requisition already being deleted, while the in-progress applications are still treated by the system as linked to that deleted requisition.

Although "Include candidates with in-progress applications from deleted requisitions in the purge" may appear as a sub-option under "Do not purge Candidate Profiles that have in-progress applications", the two options are not intended to describe the same scenario.

  • The sub-option is for candidate profiles with in-progress applications under deleted requisitions
  • The main option is for candidate profiles with in-progress applications under active requisitions

The key difference is the requisition status linked to the in-progress application.
