Symptom
- An error occurs when uploading candidate resumes in the “Upload Resume” component of the career site; the system cannot fetch skills or display relevant jobs.
- The error is intermittent: the same resume works for some users but fails for others.
- The issue is independent of the browser (observed in multiple browsers, including private/incognito sessions with cleared cache).
- Observed error message: “There is an issue examining the CV. Please try again.”

Reproducing the Issue
- Open the career site.
- Use the “Upload Resume” component to upload a candidate resume.
- Observe that an error is thrown while fetching details (skills and relevant jobs).
Resolution
It turns out that extraction of textual content from PDF resumes with extensive graphics can be error prone.
The work around is to ask user to provide and upload a textual based PDF or some other acceptable alternative format such as docs.
