3738948 - Excel export from Balance Sheet/Income Statement Multidimensional with G/L Account attribute

Symptom

  • In the Balance Sheet/Income Statement Multidimensional app when including the G/L Account Attribute in the rows axis the view is not clear.
  • The G/L Account appears to be reported for each node until and including the child node.  The results are difficult to report on due to the additional parent node containing all child G/L accounts.

"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open Balance Sheet/Income Statement Multidimensional app.
  2. Insert the input parameters.
  3. Go.
  4. Add the G/L Account Attribute to the Rows Axis.

  5. From the above we can see G/L Account 1256100 included in "Other deferred expenses and accrued income" in the child node. We can also see it reported in both Parent Nodes "C. Prepayments and accrued income" and "B. Current assets"
  6. This makes reporting difficult as the same account appears to be reported under multiple nodes.
  7. Export to excel which reports the same G/L Account on parent and child nodes making it difficult to report.

Resolution

An option to display the G/L Accounts without the grouping of the Financial Statement Leaf Item is to enable the G/L Account Hierarchy or FSV as follows;

  1. Open Balance Sheet/income Statement Multidimensional app
  2. Insert the input parameters.
  3. Go.
  4. Add the G/L Account Attribute to the Rows Axis.
  5. Remove the Financial Statement Lead Item.
  6. Right Click the G/L Account in the results.
  7. "Hierarchy" and "Select Hierarchy"

  8. Search for the FSV or Hierarchy.
  9. Select the Hierarchy and OK.

  10. Export the Hierarchy as an Excel.
  11. We can now see details at the child node level similar to the PDF export from Balance Sheet/Income Statement.

Additionally there is an alternate option to download or export the FSV to excel via the Financial Statements Review Booklet.

  1. Open the Financial Statements Review Booklet app.
  2. Insert the input parameters.
  3. Go.
  4. Select the Export icon.
  5. Export to Spreadsheet.

  6. Download the spreadsheet once the download has completed.
