When accessing the Configuration Activity "102819 - Define Number Ranges for Sales Documents", the option to edit internal/external number ranges in sales documents is not provided.

The edit restriction is provided for the activity Define Number ranges for sales document in all environments. Field "External" is supposed to be not editable.

Enabling external number range would lead to conflicts with the assignment of this number range interval (for example, document type configuration) when changing the indicator, and cause data inconsistency as too many customers destroyed their number ranges leading to activation errors. So additional restrictions had been introduced.

From product standard, the SAP Number Range development team decided to disable internal/external number range edition after a lot of internal discussions.

The edition of this configuration activity is considered a missing functionality by SAP side. It is necessary to submit a feature request for the development team requesting for this option.
