Symptom
- Is a way to access or verify the alumni activation email or activation link similar to onboarding.
- How to check if the system has sent the alumni activation email.
- Attempting to verify the alumni activation email by proxying the user is not possible.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding
Reproducing the Issue
- Convert an employee to Alumni and attempt to verify the activation email by proxying the user.
- Observe there is no method to access or confirm the alumni activation email via proxy.
Cause
The alumni activation email cannot be verified by proxying the user; it is sent to the user's personal email after required IAS and SuccessFactors alumni configuration and conversion updates.
Resolution
- Maintain a personal email address for the user in the system.
- Complete the required configurations in Identity Authentication Service (IAS) and in SuccessFactors for the Alumni process.
- Convert the user to Alumni in SuccessFactors.
- In IAS, verify that:
1. The user login name is updated to the personal email address.
2. The user type changes from Employee to Alumni.
3. The status updates from Inactive to Active. - The email will be sent to the Alumni personal email address by IAS
- Note: The alumni activation email cannot be accessed or verified through proxy.
