3739902 - SAP Datasphere - Unknown Expensive Statements related to space name $$global$$ and object type SYSTEM

Symptom

In Datasphere → Monitor → Statement Logs, high HANA peak memory usage is shown for the $$global$$ space, as attached below.
However, when checking the Statement Details for more information, the statement appears as null, with the statement_hash displayed as "?".

Environment

SAP HANA Cloud
SAP Datasphere

Cause

The information of Datasphere → Monitor ->Statement Logs is getting data from m_expensive_statements, m_out_of_memory_events.
Upon reviewing the output of the SQL: "HANA_Memory_OutOfMemoryEvents_<version info>.txt", there are some entries show the statement_hash as "?".

Resolution

In this situation, there is no need to focus on why a statement with a "?" statement_hash has a high peak memory.
If the statement_hash is shown as "?", it typically relates to internal system operations or background processes (e.g., backup, GC jobs) that are affected by a global out-of-memory (OOM) situation, these are considered victims of the global OOM event. Therefore, the focus should be on analyzing the root cause of the global OOM situation in HANA.
