3740150 - Deletion of submitted timesheet before approval removes record in the database – SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

  • Project time recording in the system is configured to require approval.
  • A time entry is submitted via manage my timesheet and removed again before approval is granted.
  • The expected behaviour is a cancelled status in the database; however, the record is deleted instead.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. In Manage My Timesheet, enter and submit a time record.
  2. In CBS View I_TIMESHEETRECORD and/or I_TIMESHEET find the submitted time record.
  3. Before any approval occurs, delete the submitted time entry in Manage My Timesheet.
  4. Recheck the CBS View: instead of being shown as cancelled, the deleted entry is no longer present.

Resolution

  • This is the standard system behaviour.
  • Deletion of timesheet records entries having time sheet status 'in process' or 'submitted' is a hard delete from the database.
