3740397 - Multi action import job to S4 failing intermittently

Symptom

  • Import job to S4 fails intermittently with the error:  
    • "Data gather ended unexpectedly. Error code: 1013"  
  • Multi action import job scheduled to refresh, fails intermittently with the error:  
    • "Failed to start data import job due to job validation error: 'The connections of the import job are missing credentials.'"  

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud 1.0

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a multi action import job to S4
  2. Schedule it to run periodically every hour
  3. Notice that it fails intermittently

Cause

The scheduled job failures occur when the timing of the import job coincides with the SAC tenant or S4 maintenance window. If the job is running when the maintenance starts, it will also fail.

Resolution

This is currently a product limitation and SAC is not able to run import jobs when maintenance is occurring.
