Symptom
- After a new hire completes all onboarding tasks, including e-signature, access to the onboarding dashboard is removed.
- A manager-initiated task (for example, navigator assignment for review) is added after completion.
- The new hire cannot view or act on the newly added task because onboarding access has ended.
- No error messages or error codes are shown.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding
Reproducing the Issue
- Assign standard onboarding tasks to a new hire and have the new hire complete all tasks, including e-signature.
- Confirm the onboarding process completes and the new hire no longer sees the onboarding dashboard.
- From the manager side, add an additional post-completion task (for example, navigator assignment for review).
- Observe that the new hire cannot access the onboarding dashboard and cannot see or act on the new task.
Cause
By design, onboarding dashboard access for the new hire ends immediately after completion of all assigned onboarding tasks (including e-signature), transitioning the user out of new hire mode.
Resolution
- If the new hire must act on additional tasks, use Onboarding Dashboard > New Hire Details > Actions > Restart Onboarding Process (requires the “Restart Onboarding” permission) to reopen access for the new hire.
- Prevent recurrence by configuring business rules or Onboarding Programs so that all potential tasks (for example, navigator review) are included before the onboarding process completes.
- For tasks that do not require new hire action, have the manager complete them from the manager/admin Onboarding Dashboard view without reopening new hire access.
