Symptom
Concerns to "No Authentication" in Import Data Connection to SAP S/4HANA.
Environment
- SAP Analytics Cloud
Reproducing the Issue
- In SAC homepage, go to Connections (Add Connection).
- Expand Acquire Data and select SAP S/4HANA.
- In the New SAP S/4HANA Connection dialog, select the authentication type: Basic Authentication, Client Certification (Cloud systems only), or No Authentication.
Cause
- Selecting No Authentication relies on an authentication mechanism already used on the user's PC, such as client certificate/Kerberos.
- Alternatively, it relies on hard-coded user name and password defined in the SAP S/4HANA system.
Resolution
- Select Basic Authentication if you need SAP Analytics Cloud to send a user name and password directly to SAP S/4HANA.
- Select No Authentication only if authentication is already handled outside of SAP Analytics Cloud, for example by client certificate/Kerberos on the user's PC or by default credentials configured in the SAP S/4HANA system.
