3740686 - Latest people profile cards display the history icon for users with history permission despite having no data

Symptom

In the latest people profile (PPX), the history/clock icon appears on summary cards (for example, address, dependents) even when no data is present in the card. In the legacy people profile (PP3), the history icon appears only when there is data in the corresponding portlet.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to a employee latest full people profile.
  2. Open a card that has no records example - Address or Dependents.
  3. Observe that the history/clock icon is visible.
  4. Open the same employee in the legacy people profile.
  5. Observe that the history icon is not shown when no data exists.

Cause

Latest People Profile displays the history icon on people profile cards whenever the user has permission to view history, regardless of whether data exists. This differs from the Legacy People Profile, where the icon appears only when data is present. 

Resolution

This is expected behavior in Latest People Profile .The history icon is controlled by permissions, not by whether data exists. To hide the icon for specific users, update role-based permissions to limit or remove “view history” access for the applicable portlets or entities.
