3740822 - Error: Price control 'S' is mandatory for service products - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

• When updating a Material Type, the system displays the error: "Price control 'S' is mandatory for service products"
• The error appears even though the Price Control field is already set to "S Standard price".
• The Product Type Group is maintained as, or being changed to, "2".

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open Configuration Activity "Define Attributes of Material Types" (103539).
2. Select the relevant material type and choose Edit.
3. Set the Product Type Group field to "2", or make the necessary changes and Save.
4. Error appears: Price control 'S' is mandatory for service products.

The "Price Control Mandatory" indicator is required to be set for Price Control "S" with Product Type Group "2".

Set the "Price Control Mandatory" indicator as below:

1. Open Configuration Activity "Define Attributes of Material Types" (103539).
2. Select the relevant material type and choose Edit.
3. Set the Product Type Group field to "2", or make the necessary changes.
4. Tick the "Price Control Mandatory" indicator and Save.
