3741024 - BOM selection pop up is not appearing while creating process order

Symptom

In the ECC system, if no BOM was maintained for the main material, the user would receive a pop-up to select the BOM while creating the process order, allowing them to select a different material BOM and explode it. However, in the S/4 system, this pop-up no longer appears. Instead, the system only prompts a message to maintain a BOM for the material.
