3741113 - Unable to remove flag for segment in SSCUI 102322 -Document Splitting Characteristics for General Ledger Accounting - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

• Segment reporting is not used and no segments are intended in the core structure.
• When creating a profit center in the Manage Profit Center app, the Segment field is mandatory and the profit center cannot be created without a segment.
• In SSCUI 102322 (Document Splitting Characteristics for General Ledger Accounting), Segment is selected as a mandatory characteristic by default and the checkbox cannot be changed.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open Manage Profit Center and try to create a profit center without entering a Segment; the system requires a Segment to proceed.
2. In CBC, open activity SSCUI 102322 (Document Splitting Characteristics for General Ledger Accounting) and observe that Segment is preselected as mandatory and the flag can't be removed.

In SSCUI 102322, the Segment characteristic with “mandatory” (and zero balance) is pre-delivered standard content for document splitting and cannot be removed or deselected.

It is not possible to remove flag for Segment, as this is pre-delivered configuration. If customer does not want to have document splitting per Segment, they can set up just one Segment and post everything to it,  thereby effectively neutralizing segment reporting while fulfilling mandatory requirements. 

1.  In SSCUI 120100 (Edit Constants for Nonassigned Processes), set Constant 0DFLT for the SEGMENT characteristic to one default Segment, for example, 1000_C  Segment C
2.  In Manage Profit Center, maintain the same default Segment 1000_C is maintained in each profit center master record.
