Symptom
- Managers see the “Welcome a New Teammate” card under Pending or Featured on the latest Home page.
- Associated employees do not see a corresponding task in their task list.
- The feature is not used in the onboarding process.
- There is no option to clear or remove the card.
- No error message is displayed.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding
Reproducing the Issue
- Initiate a New Hire process in Onboarding for any candidate.
- Ensure a hiring manager is assigned and onboarding activities are started.
- Progress onboarding until the hire date is reached or onboarding is initiated.
- Log in as the hiring manager.
- Go to the latest Home page.
- Observe the “Welcome a New Teammate” card under the Featured/Pending section.
Cause
- The “Welcome a New Teammate” item is a system-generated home page card initiated automatically by Onboarding 2.0 when a new hire joins; it is not a configurable or manually assigned task.
- By design, it can appear for the manager without creating a visible or actionable task for employees.
- It is not controlled by standard configurations such as role-based permissions or task settings.
Resolution
- This is expected system behavior; there is no configuration to manually remove or suppress this card/task.
- Allow the item to expire automatically; the system removes it 30 days after the hire date.
As a workaround, review onboarding participation to include only relevant users, which can reduce visibility of the card. If additional flexibility is required, submit an enhancement request via the Influence portal.
