3741958 - Restricted Quote Item Custom Fields (QICFs) may still appear in Quote Layout personalization based on other permission groups

• A Quote Item Custom Field (QICF) that is restricted through Layout Permissions may still appear in the Quote Layout personalization page under:
  User Menu > Quote Layout.
• Users may still see the field in the Available Columns or Selected Columns list even though visibility was removed for a specific permission group such as Company.

SAP CPQ

1. Navigate to:
   Setup > Fields, Calculations, Layout > Layout Permissions tab.
2. Select a permission group (for example, Company).
3. Remove visibility for a QICF under Columns by unselecting it. So that means that this QICF shouldn’t be visible for the particular user.
4. Save the changes.
5. Open:
   User Menu > Quote Layout.
6. Observe that the QICF may still appear under Available Columns or Selected Columns.

• This behavior is expected.
• Layout Permissions in SAP CPQ are evaluated across all permission groups associated with the user, including:

• • Company
  • Brand
  • User Type
  • Custom Permission Groups
    
    
• If visibility for a QICF is enabled through any assigned permission group, the field may still appear in the Quote Layout personalization page, even if it is restricted under another group.
• For example, removing visibility at the Company level alone does not fully restrict the field if the same field is enabled under Brand permissions or another assigned permission group.

• To fully restrict a QICF from appearing for a user, review all permission groups associated with that user and ensure the field is disabled across every applicable group.
• This includes verifying visibility settings under:
  • Companies
  • Brands
  • User Types
  • Custom Permission Groups
• If the field remains enabled in any assigned permission group, it may still appear in the Quote Layout personalization page.
