3742128 - Permissions for Multiple Permission Categories in Manage Permission Roles were Removed After 1H 2026 Release

Symptom

  • After the 1H 2026 release, the 'Improved permission alignment between data model and role based permission' mentioned in Enhancements in Business Configuration UI | SAP Help Portal is removing view permissions such as 'View Current' and 'View History', and not just insert/edit/correct permissions from Employee Central Effective Dated Entities in permission roles.
  • This issue also occurred for other permission categories such as Employee Views and Job Information.

Environment

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Manage Permission Roles, search for a permission role and click on View History.
  2.  Compare the most recent 'Modified at' version before the release date with each of the 'April 13, 2026' versions and click on Show Difference.
  3. You will note that permissions to Employee Central Effective Dated Entities (and others such as Employee Views and Job Information), such as View Current, View History etc. were removed.

Resolution

Issue happened for some DCs due to some disruption during release time. Engineering team has provided a code fix to avoid this issue during Production upgrade to avoid this issue.

For affected customers please manually add back the removed permissions manually for the affected roles.
