3742607 - Material status 'change' warning (me324) during Manage Purchase orders

• When creating or saving a purchase order, only a warning icon/message is shown instead of an error.
• Warning displayed: "Material xxxxxx has status 'change'".
• Message number: ME324.
• The purchase order can still be created/saved despite the material status.
• Users expect an error message that prevents saving/creating the purchase order.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the Manage Purchase Orders app.
2. Create a purchase order, enter an item with a material that has status "change" in its purchasing data, and save.
3. Observe the warning "Material xxxxxx has status 'change'" (ME324) and that the purchase order can still be created/saved.
4. Alternatively, open Create Purchase Orders (Advanced), create from a purchase requisition for a material in status "change", and observe the same warning.

• The material status in the material master (purchasing data) is configured with Purchasing Message "A" (warning) rather than "B" (error).
• The material status has not been appropriately maintained in the material master.

1. Open the Manage Your Solution app.
2. Navigate to SSCUI 102618 "Define Material Statuses" and choose Configure.
3. Add or adjust the relevant material status entry as needed.
4. In Plant-Specific Settings, set Purchasing Message to B ( error)
5. Save the configuration.
6. Update the material to the newly defined error message in the Create Material App.
