Symptom

  • Users are now able to access the recently used and favorite files and folders within the open and save dialogs that are used to browse file repository resources since SAC 2026 QRC2 update

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud 2026.08

Resolution

  • Since SAC 2026 QRC2 update, the Favorites and Recent views save user's time by eliminating the need to browse from the root level of the file repository each time when content is opened or saved. 
  • You can now use these views in the following locations:
    • Files repository: Select the Recent view to see a list of files that you recently accessed (created, edited, or opened).
    • Open dialogs: When working with a story, data action, multi action, calendar task, and other workflows, select the Favorites or Recent views. You can quickly access content of a specific resource type that you marked as a favorite or recently accessed (created, edited, or opened).

      For example, you add a chart to a story and select a model or dataset. The Favorites view shows only dataset and model files that you marked as a favorite. The Recent view shows only dataset and model files that you recently accessed. Other resource types that you marked as favorite or recently accessed don't appear in the lists.

    • Save dialogs: When saving a file, select the Favorites or Recent views. The Favorites view shows folder locations that you marked as a favorite. The Recent view shows folder locations where you recently accessed (created, edited, or opened) content that matches the resource type you're saving. Review the following examples for the Recent view.
      • You recently access a story in My Files/Public/Folder 1. When you create a story and save it, the Recent view shows Folder 1 because you recently opened a file of the same type (a story) in Folder 1.
      • You recently access a story in root of My Files (or a workspace), for example My Files/StoryFileA. When you create a story and save it, this location won't appear in the Recent view because it is already available in the dialog.
      • You recently access a story in a subfolder of My Files (or a workspace), for example My Files/SubfolderA/StoryFileA. When you create a story and save it, this location will appear in the Recent view.
