When creating a Data Product in BDC, the system automatically adds the suffix ":v1" to the data product name. However, the version suffix will not change even after editing the data product.
Environment
- SAP Datasphere
- SAP Business Data Cloud
Cause
The system does automatically add the ":v1" suffix to the technical name of data products. This is to ensure compatibility with other integrations in SAP Business Data Cloud and Datasphere, especially when sharing data products created in the data marketplace with external users such as Databricks.
Resolution
As of now, the Data Marketplace does NOT support native version control for Data Products. Therefore, even when updating data products in subsequent processes, the version always remains v1.
