3743339 - How to Create a Business Partner Category Group in the Manage Business Partner Master Data App

Symptom

  • When creating a business partner in the Manage Business Partner Master Data app, only the business partner categories Organization and Person are available in the dropdown list.
  • The Group category is missing and cannot be selected during business partner creation.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the Manage Business Partner Master Data app.
  2. Navigate to the Create button.
  3. Observe that only Person and Organization options are available.

Cause

It is not possible to create a Business Partner Category Group using the Fiori apps Manage Business Partner Master Data, Manage Customer Master Data, and Manage Supplier Master Data.

Resolution

To create a Business Partner Category Group, use the Maintain Business Partner app.

  1. Open the Maintain Business Partner app.
  2. Select the Group option.
  3. Enter the required Business Partner details.
  4. Save the changes.
