Symptom
Admin based roles have a permission titled "Class Email Notification" which can also set a Security Domain Group restriction to it. What does this permission do?
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning
Cause
- The “Schedule Instance Notification.Schedule Instance.Notify” permission (labeled as “Class Email Notification”) is redundant and not evaluated for the Send Notification action at class level.
- The “Send Ad Hoc Notification” permission controls the Send Notification action across items, classes, curricula, and programs; therefore, domain restrictions on the class-specific permission have no effect.
Resolution
The "Class Email Notification" permission does nothing in the system. It can be safely removed from any role and will not have an impact on the ability of the admin to trigger Ad Hoc notifications for Classes. This also means that the Permission Restrictions that are set on the permission do nothing.
